The proposed redevelopment layout
Current facilities
Dulwich Islamic Centre & Mosque is at the heart of South East London, in the London borough of Southwark, serving a diverse community for over 30 years!
Alhamdulillah, Dulwich Islamic Centre & Mosque has been granted planning permission to create a new floor at the basement level with a new layout of the existing building. The new design layout will provide a larger prayer area and space for other facilities.
The building is in a poor condition and requires urgent updating, which is why we decided to modernise with the new layout.
New facilities
Prayer area for women
currently there are no facilities available for ladies as our mosque doesn’t have sufficient space
Space for teaching area
Clean prayer space
New clean toilets and wudu area for brothers and sisters
Visitor area for non-Muslims, guests and well wishers
New stairs for fire escape which will also be used to access other floors

Appeal
The mosque will remain open during the construction works, which will be completed in different phases.
First phase will be the basement excavation works for both buildings, which will create approximately 200 sq metre of floor space. The other phases will be a progression of the works from ground floor level to the top floor.
We need to fund raise a further £1.6Million to complete the full development of our mosque.
The construction work has started and on hold until we can raise £600,000 to continue phase 1a
